Right to Object to Data Collection and to Certain Direct Advertising (Art. 21 GDPR)

You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data. This also applies if the processing is based on these provisions and includes profiling. The specific legal basis for processing can be found in this privacy policy.

In the event of your objection, we will no longer process your affected personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing is intended for the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims (objection according to Article 21 Paragraph 1 GDPR).

By activating the SSL or TLS encryption, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Data Collection on our Website

Description and scope of data processing

Every time you access our website, our system automatically collects data and information transmitted by your browser to our server. The following data is collected without your active participation and stored until automated deletion:

  • Information about the browser type and version used
  • Information about the operating system in use
  • Information about the internet service provider
  • The user's IP address
  • Date and time of access
  • The specific page accessed (name and URL)
  • The website from which you accessed our website
  • The website you access from our site

This data is temporarily stored in our system's log files. Your IP address remains untouched. There is no permanent storage of this data in connection with other personal information of the user.

Legal basis for data processing

The temporary storage of this data is based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Purpose of Data Processing

To properly display our website to you, it is necessary to temporarily store your IP address in our system. This storage is required for the duration of your visit to our site.

Furthermore, data is collected in log files to ensure the smooth functionality of our website. We also use this information for the ongoing optimization of the website and to ensure the security of our systems.

Our legal basis for processing this data, according to Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is in our legitimate interest to achieve these purposes.

Duration of Storage

The collected data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer needed for the purpose for which they were collected. In the case of collecting data to provide the website, this happens when the respective session is terminated.

Objection and Elimination Option

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files are essential for the proper functioning of the website. Therefore, users do not have the option to object.

Use of Cookies

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies," text files that are stored on your computer and allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, such as the browser type and version, the operating system used, the referrer URL (the previously visited page), the hostname of the accessing computer (IP address), and the time of the server request, are usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics is not combined with other data by Google. Additionally, we have extended Google Analytics on this website with the code "anonymizeIP". This ensures that your IP address is anonymized and all data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On our behalf, Google will use this information to analyze your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide us with other services related to website and internet usage.

Google Tag Manager

We use the tool "Google Tag Manager" on our website, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Tel.: +353 1 543 1000, Fax: +353 1 686 5660, E-Mail: support-deutschland(at)google.com ("Google"), through which advertisers can manage website tags and thereby set cookies.

Google Tag Manager is designed as a cookie-less domain and only implements tags. Tags are small code elements on the website that serve, among other things, to measure traffic and visitor behavior, capture the impact of online advertising and social channels, identify the target audience of our site, and test and optimize the website. With the help of the Google Tag Manager, we can control the setting of such cookies on our site.

No additional cookies are set by Google Tag Manager, and no personal data is collected. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags, which may collect personal data, but does not access this data itself. If a deactivation has been made at the domain or cookie level or an objection has been declared, it remains in effect for all tracking tags, provided they are set using the Google Tag Manager.

The legal basis for data processing is our legitimate interest in integrating and managing the cookies set on our site (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR).

For more information, see Google's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Google Ads (Google AdWords)

We use "Google Ads" to display advertising to you on Google websites and other third-party websites. Google Ads is a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Phone: +353 1 543 1000, Fax: +353 1 686 5660, E-Mail: support-deutschland(at)google.com.

The advertisements are delivered through "Ad Servers" from Google. For this, we use cookies that capture certain parameters for measuring ad success, such as the number of displays or user clicks. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Ads will store a cookie on your device. This cookie typically contains the cookie ID, the number of ad impressions, the last impression, and opt-out information (a marker indicating the user does not wish to be targeted again).

These cookies allow Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain sub-pages of a website of a Google Ads customer and the cookie stored on their device has not expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on a specific ad and was redirected to the customer's site. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. We do not collect and process any personal data in connection with these advertising measures ourselves. Google only provides us with statistical evaluations that show us which advertising measures are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of advertising material; in particular, we cannot identify users based on this information.

After visiting our website, it is also possible that our advertising will be displayed to you on other websites in the Google advertising network (so-called retargeting). This is done through cookies stored in your browser, through which Google records your behavior on our site.

Through the marketing tool used, your browser automatically establishes a connection to Google's servers. By integrating Google Ads into our website, Google is informed that you have accessed the respective part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are logged into a Google service, Google can associate your visit with your account. Even if you are not registered or logged in with Google, Google can capture and store your IP address.

Google has contractually committed, through so-called EU standard data protection clauses, to ensure that, when transmitting personal data from the European Economic Area (e.g., to Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), the recipients adhere to a data protection standard that largely corresponds to the European one. However, it is not possible to ensure that Google can fulfill these contractual obligations in every case.

The legal basis for data processing is your consent (Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a of the GDPR).

For more information, see Google's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

YouTube

We integrate videos on our website that are stored on the platform "YouTube." YouTube is operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Phone: +353 1 543 1000, Fax: +353 1 686 5660, Email: support-deutschland(at)google.com.

Google captures your IP address, date, time of access, information about the visited sub-page of our website, and the accessed video. This happens regardless of whether you are logged into YouTube. Additionally, a connection to Google's advertising network is established.

As long as you only access one of our web pages containing an embedded YouTube video without playing the video, no data is transferred to Google. The transfer only takes place when you start the video.

To save your desired settings for video playback and data transfer to Google, cookies are used. These cookies contain pseudonymous data (e.g., cookie ID) for browser recognition.

If you are logged into YouTube at the same time, Google can associate your video call on our website with your YouTube account and use this information for personalized advertising. If you do not want your YouTube profile to be linked to the access of our website, you should log out of your YouTube account before activating the YouTube plugin.

The legal basis for data processing is your consent (Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a of the GDPR).

For more information, see Google's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

LinkedIn Insight Tag

On our website, we use the so-called Insight Tag from the social network LinkedIn. This tool is provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (hereinafter "LinkedIn").

The LinkedIn Insight Tag is a small JavaScript code that we have integrated into our website. This allows the collection of data regarding visits to our website, including URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser properties, timestamps, and page views.

LinkedIn does not provide us with personal data, but only offers aggregated reports on the audience of our website and the performance of advertisements. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to target website visitors for specific advertising outside our website without identifying the users. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes in their account settings.

The processing of data by the LinkedIn Insight Tag is intended to enable detailed campaign reports and gain information about visitors to our website to support our advertising and marketing goals.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is your consent according to Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a GDPR.

The collected data is anonymized within seven days, and the anonymized data is deleted within 90 days. The use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag is encrypted.

As a user, you also have the option to decide on the execution of the required JavaScript code for this tool. By changing your browser settings, you can disable or limit the execution of JavaScript, thereby preventing data collection. However, please note that in this case, you may not be able to fully utilize all the features of the website.

For more information on data processing, as well as your rights and setting options, please see LinkedIn's privacy policy at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Social Media

General Information:

We maintain our own presences in various social media to provide you with a broad range of information and to exchange with you on relevant topics. In addition to the social networks themselves, we also collect and process personal user data on our profile pages.

We link to our presences on social networks on our website by integrating the respective network graphics that lead to our profile pages. When visiting our website, no data is transferred to the social networks unless you actively follow the link to our profile on the respective social network.

Depending on the respective network operator, the following categories of data may be processed:

  • IP address,
  • Date and time of access,
  • Visited page within the social network,
  • Referral URL (the page from which the user arrived at our profile in the social network),
  • URLs of internal and external pages accessed via the social network,
  • User's device (desktop, smartphone, tablet),
  • User's language settings,
  • User's region.

When visiting our profile pages on social networks, the network operator may place cookies on your device, regardless of whether you have an account with the network or are logged in. Cookies are data packets that mark devices with a specific identifier. They are used to display personalized advertising to visitors of social networks, including our profile pages.

For instance, users may be shown ads from advertising partners of the network whose websites these users had previously visited. Cookies also enable the generation of statistics about the use of profile pages (e.g., page views, target groups).

If we receive statistics from the network operator, they are anonymized, so assigning usage data to individual users is not possible. However, if you are logged into the network, the network operator can associate the visit to our profile with your account. If you want to prevent the collected data from being directly assigned to your account, you should log out before clicking on the network graphic.

We have no influence on the data collected, shared, or the duration of storage by the network operator. Please consult the privacy policy of the respective social network.

Our social media presences aim to inform about our offerings and provide an additional contact opportunity. The legal basis for data processing is our legitimate interest in public relations (Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter f GDPR). The use of social plugins, like "share" buttons, requires your consent (Article 6 Paragraph 1 letter a GDPR).

Private messages via social networks are deleted within a year after the last communication with you. Public posts (e.g., on our timeline) remain permanently published until you request their deletion or delete the posts yourself.

We reserve the right to delete unlawful content on our profile pages, e.g., copyright infringements or criminally relevant statements. Moreover, we store usernames and comments that violate netiquette and are deleted. These are retained for potential legal disputes within the limitation period.

We share responsibility with the operator of the respective social network for operating our profile pages concerning data protection regulations. The network operator provides the IT infrastructure and website and is the primary contact for data processing on the network pages (e.g., information or deletion). For questions about user rights, please contact the social network, as only they have full access to your user data. However, you can also assert your rights against us. If necessary, we will forward inquiries to the network operator.

Legal basis for data processing

The legal basis for processing personal data using cookies is derived from Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f of the GDPR. This legitimate interest arises from the data processing purposes outlined below.

Purposes of data processing

The purpose of using cookies is to facilitate the use of websites for users. Some features of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. It's essential for the browser to be recognized even after moving to another page.

The use of cookies is also aimed at improving the quality of our website and its content. Through these "analysis cookies," we gather information on how the website is utilized, allowing us to continuously optimize our offerings.

Duration of storage, objection, and removal options

Cookies are stored on your computer and transmitted to our website from there. As a user, you have the power to control the use of cookies. By adjusting the settings in your internet browser, you can disable or limit the storage of cookies. Cookies that have already been saved can be deleted at any time, even automatically.

Please note that disabling cookies for our website might mean that not all functions of the page can be fully utilized.

Furthermore, if you want to prevent the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being recorded by Google, you can use the browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics. You can download and install this add-on via the following link: Browser Add-On to Deactivate Google Analytics.

Alternatively, especially on mobile devices, you can prevent data collection by Google Analytics by clicking on this link. This action will store an opt-out cookie on your device. This cookie prevents data collection by Google Analytics for our website and for the browser you're using as long as the cookie remains saved in your browser.

Social Plugins from Facebook/Instagram (META) and LinkedIn

Our website uses social plugins ("plugins") from various social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. These plugins are offered by companies such as Facebook Inc., Instagram LLC., New Work SE, and LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company ("providers").

The Facebook platform is operated by Facebook Inc., located at 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). An overview of the available Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins.

To use the services of Facebook and Instagram on our website, we need your consent. If you activate these services, you voluntarily consent to the mentioned data processing. This temporarily includes your consent under Article 49 Paragraph 1 Letter a of the GDPR for data processing outside the EU, especially in the USA. It is important to note that the same high level of data protection as in Europe cannot be guaranteed in the USA. If data is transferred to the USA, there is a risk that U.S. authorities could process this data for surveillance purposes without comprehensive enforcement options for your rights. You can revoke your consent at any time.
